Testing / Certificates
Testing:
There are Two methods to receive rank (you choose one). Choose either Video test, or Honor method.

Method A: Video test. You can use VHS, CD, DVD, or Streaming i.e. YouTube video to test. Mail video to us or if using streaming video, email us the link for review.
Upon review we will email you and let you know if you passed. Please come back to this website to purchase your official certificate. Just click one of the icons (Shorinkenjitsu, American Tiger, or SnakeFist) below according to the style you are learning.
Testing by video is informal, if you do not have a partner to train or test with, we will allow you to demonstrate the technique in the air, without a partner.
Steps to get rank with Method A:
1. Mail us your test video, or email us a link of your test if stream video such as Youtube.
2. We will email you upon passing your test.
3. Come back to this web page and click on the icon of the style you are learning
(shown below)
4. Select your rank (cost varies based on rank certificate).
Certificate will be mailed to you.

Method B: Honor method. This method is for those who already have a background in the martial arts typically at the expert level (1st dan black belt min).
If the student fully understands the technique(s) or concept in these courses without question, then we allow the honor method. We do ask those with martial arts experience to please email us a brief martial arts resume, and a scan of one or more of your black belt rank certificates just for validation purposes.
Please Remember, when using this method to be sincere and apply yourself honestly, otherwise you will only be cheating yourself if you abuse this method.
Steps to get rank with Method B:
1. Click on the icon of your style (shown below).
2. Select your rank (cost varies based on rank certificate).
Your certificate will be Emailed or mailed to you.
Order your official black belt
For example, if you have your 2nd dan black belt certificate (any style) you can order your 2nd dan black belt here. You will receive your black belt with 2 red stripes (red stripes are not embroidered).
Along with your black belt you will also receive a congratulatory letter and an ID caed from us as well.
(red stripes are not embroidered, we apply special tape for your belt rank)

Please note that all video correspondence received by the SKKA will not be returned to the student, and will be placed in the student file which may or may not be used for demonstration purposes on this website or any other website solely owned by the SKKA Academy.
